Ugii Lake

A freshwater lake of 25.7 km² on the Ramsar list, known for perch and pike and about 150 kinds of water birds. In summer people camp on the shore, fish, ride and take boats; in winter they fish through the ice. Kharkhorin is 70 km away.

  • By car326 km · 7 h · Fuel ₮49k–₮156kOSRM 6.1 h; Zuunii Medee (2025) gives 346 km to the lake, paved most of the way.
  • By bus · KharkhorinDragon terminal · ₮36k–₮37k · 8 hTo Kharkhorin; the lake is ≈ 70 km further, by local car. The site also lists a stop «Ар.Өгий нуур» without departures

  • Swim on a warm afternoon (the lake is 6.6 m deep on average)
